I helped Kiandra rinse out the tie dye shirts that she did with her youth girls last night. This was the first batch of two batches of shirts/tank tops/pillow cases that the girls created:

Poor guy has been stretched thin during these last few weeks of endless 7:30-9:30 volleyball practices. I don't really know if this was a way to catch up on lost sleep or just a way to get out of doing homework in my classroom after school. ;)

What do I do on the rare day that I do return home in the daylight?? Whip up a batch of salted caramel apple pie bars that I saw on pinterest during my prep today!

Conrad has been feeling under the weather this last week so he opted to stay home during Sunday school to sleep. He sent me this picture of his bed buddies:

While the kids are away...the parents will play :)

With Kiandra working and then off to babysitting, and the other 2 away for the youth conference, Conrad and I headed out for our second date night in a row!

It was a province wide inservice day today and my friend Janice and I attended a session together and then participated in the photo booth there:

Kezia participated in a fundraising volleyball tournament today. When the appointments this morning, she was sure she was going to be late for the tournament but Conrad dropped her off just in time. She has been a part of this tournament before because it involves dressing up in a theme. This year her team dressed up as Dr. Suess characters. She was the dog who dressed like a reindeer from "When the Grinch stole Christmas". She was surprised when her team kept winning and she was disappointed to have  to stay at school beyond her classes. (Her classes this semester end at noon)

Kaden's high school does interviews before report cards and I got to meet with his teachers this evening to see how he is doing. I wasn't at all surprised what his teachers had to say since I am not seeing the lack of effort that Kaden puts into school and I am glad that there is time for Kaden to reach what he is capable of before the report card comes out.

I didn't even realize that my principal had taken this photo until it appeared in our family memo today. This was our "day and night pattern" art and involves students painting 2 pictures (1 day and 1 night) and then cutting it into strips to glue into an alternating pattern. When the completed piece is folded like a fan and placed upright, it is possible to see the full "day" picture from one angle and the full "night" picture by viewing it from the other side. God takes our brokenness and makes it complete by changing our viewpoint. What a great reminder!

One of the things I like about having Kaden's girlfriend on snap chat is getting updates about Kaden from her...like this:
I'm not sure why he has two bags of treats and doesn't look like he's sharing with anyone????

Kiandra was called to be an extra for a tv show that was filming overnight. Her serving experience (her day job, lol!) came in handy as she was cast as a server on the set and became a "featured extra" and appeared in most of the scenes they filmed tonight. She was wrapped just before 2 am

It was a chilly day for recess duty but my hat (made by my friend Andrea) kept me stylish and warm! I'm so thankful for how things are "knit" together so perfectly. Still in the thankfulness mindset I was reminded again today that I am so thankful for my teaching job at this school. Even with recess duty, even with the chaos that sometimes is Grade 1, even with the things that aren't easy....I am so thankful to have the job of a teacher. Plans that were knit together to get me to this job were certainly part of God's plan.

There's always light after the darkness. Tonight I decided that even though I was stuck at school (again!) because Kaden had a late volleyball practice that I would take a walk around the neighbourhood. It was gorgeous out and this was one of my views along the way. There is so much to be thankful for even when there seems to be darkness all around...

A familiar sight for me lately...waiting in my van for my kid. Today it was Kiandra and she passed the first of 5 parts for her Water Safety Instructor course. When she completes the other 4 parts over the next few weeks then she will be a certified Swim Instructor.
